The Real Hope is...
There are actually solutions out there. You just have to dig a little for them.
In fact, one comprehensive plan has figured that doing what we can now on the scale of sending men to the moon (you know, bold and visionary!) would not only mitigate anthropogenic climate change but create 3 million jobs in the process. Additionally what we spend for oil and anti terrorism could be turned into domestic spending, highly skilled job training that would be difficult to outsource. Turning closed steel factories into windmill production facilities for instance. This will even prevent the impending economic collapse that many people are predicting in the next few years.
